- Enforce lab standards; set and execute quality assurance (QA) processes; plan/organize necessary test passes; help triage bugs and drive issues to resolution; keep key stakeholders informed of QA status
- Oversee lab coverage of hardware
- Execute manual and write tests, and identify actionable bugs quickly
- Work alongside cross functional teams to collect the necessary information to assure the QA coverage, and also provide feedback on quality issues
- Work with onsite and satellite team to set their priorities and remove their roadblocks to make sure sufficient coverage is provided
- Create and support test dashboards/reports
- Document tasks and processes
- Set up, maintain & upgrade lab test infrastructure (Servers, network etc.)
- Work with the team to improve processes (upgrades/changes).
- Test hardware and related applications to compared to specifications and documentation
- Perform tests and provide timely test results to test engineers and test leads
- Identify, analyze, and document defects, questionable functions, errors, and inconsistencies in embedded software program functions, outputs, online screens, and content
- Install, maintain, and use testing embedded software programs
- Perform other duties as requested by primary test lead/admin, test engineers
- Review computer logs and reports to identify program processing errors and possible improvements
- Conduct compatibility tests with other software programs, hardware, multiple operating systems, and network environments
- Document, track, and communicate test results, analysis, and unresolved problems

- Organize labs
- Label and document wiring, cabling, network ports, and existing assets
- Organize storage cabinets and bins, purchase requested supplies online
- Update documentation (spreadsheets and documents, photos and text)
- Clean and organize labs in general, in collaboration with the team
- Assemble and configure lab hardware
- Mechanically assemble lab benches and small prototypes with hand tools (machining is not required- parts purchased from machine shops)
- Install rack-mount electronics in racks, run a network cable
- Disassemble hardware being decommissioned and move to loading dock
- Connect assembled systems to computers, run test software to verify operation
- Set up new lab computers (install Linux, configure networking, run setup scripts)
- Run equipment according to test processes (using Linux scripts and GUIs) and record results
- Support some team members working remotely
- Reboot computers as needed
- Video chat with remote support technicians or team members to help them diagnose problems with lab hardware
- Provide light shipping assistance
- Drive materials as requested between Mt View and SF labs
- Open crates and packages, break down and dispose of the packaging
- Package components for shipment

Diploma or general education degree and 5 to 8 years related experience and/or training;
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Hands-on experience and knowledge of Android and Linux with a minimum of 1-3 years of professional experience a plus
- Experience in focus area (Linux, Monitoring/Automation/Puppet)
- Familiar with setting up networks
- Experience with a variety of scripting languages including Python and Javascript, but no specific hands-on coding experience required
- Must be able to work with environments that have dynamic priorities, unstructured and/or undocumented.
- Basic troubleshooting experience and knowledge on wearable, mobile devices, and tablets.
- Experience with host machine maintenance
